Je’lani questioning Bryce on previous play.

This past weekend was the Crusader Classic Tournament & it was an interesting experience to say the least. Here’s a quick timeline before we move ahead.

  • 11/28/18 Riordan handles Sacred Heart Prep in the opening round winning 73-54

  • 11/29/18 No game, but Bryce Monroe was cleared to play immediately

  • 11/30/18 A Riordan run at the end of the game to beat San Ramon Valley 60-52 Je’lani & Bryce combined for 38 points

  • 12/1/18 Championship game against Saint Francis(SoCal)

Je’lani and Bryce combined for only 24 points this game. While the other teams dynamic duo went for 40. The final score of the game would be 60-52 Saint Francis. This was a tough loss to take in. Home court, your own tournament, against a team from 300+ miles away, finally having the guy you want playing eligible… tough.

Them Crusaders have a talented group of players and coaches, and can be very dangerous once they all get on the same page. They’re now 2-2 on the season & the schedule doesn’t get any easier. The loaded Gridley tournament this week is what’s next, featuring top NorCal teams. (I’ll be covering this tournament so stay tuned!)

First round:

4:00-pm. Dublin - Branson

5:30 - Sheldon - James Logan

7:00 - Gridley - Salesian

8:30- St. Joseph - Archbishop Riordan

We’ll see if Them Crusaders turn up or fold to the tough competition coming up.
